The challenge
Films That Move is an international artist residency where filmmakers, dancers, and creatives collaborate to produce short films inspired by movement. During a two-week residency in Cape Charles, I developed the program’s first cohesive visual identity system, creating branding and promotional materials across print, environmental, and digital platforms. Working closely with Artistic Director Renata Sheppard, the challenge was to capture the experimental, collaborative spirit of the residency while establishing a professional and unified brand presence.

To strengthen Films that Move’s visual identity, I refined the existing logo through subtle typographic adjustments, including improved spacing, alignment, and weight contrast. These changes created a more cohesive and polished mark while emphasizing the relationship between movement and filmmaking. The refined system preserved the spirit of the original logo while improving clarity, flexibility, and consistency across applications.
